What is a school council?
Our school council is group of students who are elected from each class to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school.

What does we do?
Our  school council meets with Mrs Valoti (Assistant Head) to discuss ideas and sort out problems. These may include improving school lunchtimes, planning events or ideas for fundraising.

Members of the school council are also responsible for carrying out some the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning discos, writing newspaper articles, or meeting with catering staff.

What makes us a good School Council?
A good school council is one that represents the views of all students and gets things done.

These are some things that make our council effective:

  • Regular meetings
  • One rep from each class
  • Class councils that meet regularly
  • We talk about how we can improve our roles
  • We have budget of £250 to spend on our plans

We are part of a national School Council
