On the 30th of June, instrumentalists from Years 4 to 6  performed in the Summer Term Strings Concert to the school and our families. The string players performed pieces that they either learned during tuition with Mrs Maclean and Mrs Hooker or in Miss Blyth’s String Ensemble group. We enjoyed some great performances from the violinists, cellists and the violists.

All the string players did amazingly well. So did our teachers including Miss Sherring, we made her dream come true which was to make the first school orchestra at Woodcroft, and we did it! (Click here for more photos)
The year sixes (us) had to make the most of this performance as it was our last year and we might never get the opportunity to play again with such amazing musicians and incredible teachers. We also had a really emotional ending when Miss Sherring got upset because it was out final concert. All the musicians and teachers that took part did amazingly well in the concert and deserved a big well done.

Quotes from our musicians…

“I had an amazing time performing for the last time with the rest of the talented strings players at Woodcroft. When Miss Sherring got a bit emotional, I felt so proud because she has helped us so much along with Ms Maclean and Miss Blyth to get us to where we are now in our musical careers.”
