There have been some significant changes to the arrangements for assessing children’s progress in school. The Department for Education has produced an information leaflet and short video for parents.

 ‘Do Yourself Proud’ on Friday 18th March

Friday 18th March was Sport Relief Day and we were raising money by having a special non uniform day. Our staff and pupils came to school dressed in their favourite sports kits to represent an inspirational person. (more…)

Percussion, Woodwind, Brass and Guitar Performance

Our Boomwhackers started show with a bang!

On Friday 11th March our percussion club, woodwind and brass players, plus senior guitar group performed to family and friends. All of the pupils played with confidence, including our younger musicians who impressed us with their developing skills. Woodcroft dancers getting ready to perform.

Well done to our J Rock dancers for another outstanding performance at the Finchley ArtsDepot as part of the Barnet Dance Festival on Tuesday 8th March.

We have also just received some fantastic news…the group have made it through to the National School Dance Off Finals! Following success at the London heats last month, we are now off to the Grand Final to be staged at Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre on July 11th. A fantastic achievement – well done!

Woodcroft and Frith Manor Orchestras Combine

All musicians from both schools performed a massed orchestra piece to finish the show.

On Friday 4th March we enjoyed a musical treat when Woodcroft and Frith Manor string orchestras combined for a special collaborative concert. Last year Woodcroft visited Frith Manor to play, and today it was their turn to visit Woodcroft. Both schools performed an accomplished set with certain pieces involving musicians from both schools. Special thanks to the music tutors Val Maclean and Ruth Cohen for organising this event. It is great to see music and the arts thriving in Barnet primary schools.

M&M Theatre Production 

Key Stages 1 and 2 got ‘all aboard’ with characters Peter, Phyllis and Roberta when their whole world changed!

As part of our Literacy Week, on Tuesday 1st March, we all collected our tickets to Oakworth Station. There we met Mr Perks, The Porter, who guided us through this heart-warming story about the Brentworth family. (more…)
