Woodcroft’s Foundation Stage (Nursery/Reception) have taken delivery of their Painted Lady caterpillars. They are in now in the  âUnderstanding of the Worldâ learning area and children have begun observing them with magnifying glasses. The pupils report that the caterpillars ‘have grown because they have eaten all their foodâ and that ‘they are so small and wiggly.’
J Rock Perform at Morrisons Showcase Celebration
Woodcroft’s fantastic J Rock dance club were invited to open a community showcase event in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations. On Saturday, 10th June, our pupils were at the new Morrisons store in Colindale to start the afternoon’s performances. The dancers wowed an audience of shoppers with a version of their Egyptian dance. (more…)
Woodcroft Celebration Day – Friday 10th June
We held our own celebration lunch at Woodcroft. Children came to school dressed up for a red, white and blue themed non uniform day. We will also made crowns in school to mark The Queenâs 90th Birthday.
Morrisons âWill Rock Youâ Celebrating The Queen’s 90th Birthday
Morrisons Colindale store will be hosting a celebration showcase on Saturday 11th June. Our very own J Rock Dance Group will be taking part in the show and performing at 1.30pm. Lots more is going on in store including music, fashion shows, tea parties and demonstrations. Why not pop down tomorrow and join in the celebrations. (more…)

On Tuesday 24th May Aled and Shona came to Woodcroft to do an animal workshop for year 3. We saw many animals in the morning and afternoon: including a bearcat called Biscuit, a meerkat called Mika, and a thick, black millipede. (more…)

A group of our J Rock Parents and Friends of Woodcroft organised a fantastic Family Fun Day that took place on Saturday 21st May from 1.00pm to 4.00pm.

Our amazing dancers have made it through to two national finals, Junior Rock Challenge and The Great Big Dance Off, taking place in Portsmouth and Birmingham later this term. To help raise money for transport, costumes, set and make-up our J Rock Club have been organising a number of fund raising events.
Those that came along on Saturday and enjoyed games, stalls, raffles, refreshments and much, much more! We hope that you enjoyed your day.
Tuesday 17th May was Cycling Day at Woodcroft. Supported by Sustrans, we started with a âBikers Breakfastâ. We had over 30 children who cycled to school enjoy fruits, yoghurt, croissants and brioche. They also got to make their very own smoothie on the âsmoothie bikeâ.
After lunch we were joined by Arthur Shearlaw, a ‘Bike It Officer from Sustrans, the cycling and sustainable travel charity, who took assembly and introduced a new competition.
We then ‘Ditched our Stabilisers’ after school with a special learning to ride session for our younger riders.
Our J Rock Dance Club were busy fundraising on Saturday 14th May. They were helping customers pack their bags at the check-outs and collected a fantastic ÂŁ580! The group are raising money towards the cost of transport and costumes to take part in the Southern Regional Finals of Junior Rock Challenge. Barnet West League Champions!

The netball champions of Barnet West following a stunning 19-1 play-off victory over Courtland School.
Congratulations to our fantastic netball team. Following an undefeated season in their league pool, on Wednesday 27th April they were victorious in the play-offs against Courtlands School. Woodcroft were crowned Barnet West Champions! This is an amazing achievement, and the first time Woodcroft has won the Netball League. Well done to the entire team and their coaches, Mr Patel and Mr Rees.
Their outstanding season is not over yet as they are due to play in final of the Barnet Cup, this time against Barnfield. Let’s hope their success continues!
