By C Tallon16th July 2015

Nick of Time

The standard of performance at Woodcroft never fails to amaze – and this year’s Leavers Show was no exception. Written by Mr Guest and Mr Huckerby, the show called ‘Nick of Time’ centred on a group of children travelling through history. With fantastic costume and song, expertly coordinated by a Y6 Stage Crew, the pupils brought history to life and showed off the year group’s amazing performance talents! Well done to all of the pupils, and thank you to all of the staff for their hard work putting it together. Click on the image below to view a slideshow of photos from the show.

Other highlights included an opportunity to try out our learning software in the Computing Suite, view a Family Learning display in the library, take a look at our fantastic foundation stage mural and watch a DVD our school production that was being shown in The Tardis. Gold Sports & Games for Woodcroft

By C Tallon10th July 2015

Woodcroft Receives Top Sports Award

sports goldIt has just been announced that Woodcroft has been awarded the top accolade for school sport and games: The School Games GOLD Award!

The Sainsbury’s School Games Mark is a Government led scheme to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are assessed across bronze, silver and gold levels of the quality mark. Each year we have improved our award from Bronze (2012-13), Silver (2013-14) up to Gold (2014-15), a great achievement!

Only the top 5% of schools achieve GOLD and can demonstrate that pupils have the widest range of clubs and activities in which to participate.  Woodcroft has also embraced external sporting opportunities and established strong pupil sport leadership programmes. Thank you to all the parents and carers who have supported PE and Games helping us to achieve this fantastic award. Finally, well done to our excellent Sports Team; Ms Charalambous, Mr Raw and Mr Judd for all of their hard work and commitment.

Year 4’s Trip To Paradise Wildlife Park!

By C Tallon3rd July 2015

Report written by Tallulah Taylor (Year 4)

On Monday 22nd of June 2015, Year 4 went to Paradise Wildlife Park. We hoped that the weather would be nice and it as it turned out it was wonderful.

We saw the five of the biggest cats in the world such as the jaguar, snow leopard, lion, white lion and the white tigers! The terrifyingly intense bat house had a stench so strong it made it hard to breath. The funniest thing at the park were the hilarious meerkats. We found out that they they come from the Kalahari Desert in Southern Africa. The trip was absolutely Fabulous. We enjoyed all of the day and we would all love to go back . There were parts of Paradise Wildlife Park we did not see, but what we did see was amazing, spooky and hilarious. Thank you to our teachers for organising this great experience.
