Minotaur
The whole of Key Stage 2 (Year’s 3 to 6) went to see Minotaur at The Unicorn Theatre on Tuesday 2nd February. We were treated to a classic Greek myth with a contemporary twist. This visit was part of our year long Collaborate Partnership with The Unicorn in which every pupil in the school gets to experience live theatre! This was our second big day out at the theatre for Key Stage 2, in December we also went to see Baddies the Musical.
On Tuesday, Woodcroft filled auditorium in a sea of red sweatshirts; what an amazing opportunity for our pupils. Woodcroft is committed to promoting the Arts as part of our AIM@ programmes in which we extend and enrich the curriculum for all!
It was a glorious sunny day so we were able to enjoy lunch by the Thames, and beside the famous landmarks of Tower Bridge, The Tower of London and City Hall.

This year, Woodcroft were the proud recipients of the Music Teacher Excellence Award for Best School Music Department. Our award category was sponsored by the MMA who are the National Association of Music Teaching Professionals – the largest and longest established association of music teachers in the UK. On Monday 11th January Woodcroft hosted a successful MMA training day for music teachers. Part of the day involved a presentation from Ms Sherring, our own Music Coordinator, and a performance to the course delegates by our string ensemble lead by Miss Blyth and Mrs McLean (violin tutor).
